Misty Bartel is a long-term Associate Partner and serves on the Board of Directors for sb2 inc. Joining the firm's litigation practice group in 2006, she has over a decade of experience representing assisted, skilled, and long-term care clients with their Medicaid and civil matters. Ms. Bartel has successfully represented hundreds of clients from the administrative level, through the state and federal courts. Prior to joining sb2, Ms. Bartel served as a judicial clerk in the State of New Jersey, represented the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and worked at a prominent civil firm. Ms. Bartel graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a Dean's Scholar, Centennial Grant Recipient, and founding member of Street Law. Street Law is a pro-bono educational program where fundamental concepts of law, democracy, and human rights are taught to inner city high school students. Ms. Bartel is honored to have been a recipient of the Billy and Ashley Streiter Memorial Award for demonstrating legal compassion and thoughtfulness. She is very active with several volunteer efforts, including Shelter Our Sisters, AFS, the Historical Preservation Commission, Friendly Visitors, and serving in the ReEngage ministry with her husband. She and her husband are also dedicated practitioners of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, having both earned their purple belts. She is a state-certified Guardian Ad Litem and is licensed to practice in Texas, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
